PWASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., is the chairwoman of the House Armed Services Emerging Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over Pentagon cyber operations, counter-terrorism, U.S. Special Operations Command and countering weapons of mass destruction.
But because it oversees Pentagon science and technology programs, it is “the subcommittee about the future,” said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry, R-Texas.
