Recovered $3 Million in Social Security and Medicare for NY-21 Seniors

Supporting First Responders
This Congress, I proudly voted to advance the bipartisan Public Safety Officer Benefit Support Act. This legislation would expand coverage for public safety officers who die or are disabled as a result of traumatic experiences. I will always support our first responders.
Saving North Country Hospitals Millions
Carthage Area Hospital, Lewis County General Hospital, and Gouverneur Hospital were all in jeopardy of losing their critical access hospital designation. After my long bipartisan advocacy, these three hospitals are no longer in danger of losing millions in federal funds.
Combatting the Opioid Crisis By Supporting Addiction Treatment and Curbing Abuse
The opioid crisis has devastated our communities. I worked to pass legislation to treat opioid addiction and curb abuse, including limiting opioid supply for temporary use patients, imposing sanctions on Chinese drug manufacturers who enable drug traffickers, and promoting access to non-opioid treatments.
Leading the Fight to Expose and Fix Biden’s Baby Formula Shortage Crisis
I sounded the alarm on Biden’s baby formula shortage back in February, and I have led the charge to expose and end this crisis, including introducing the Baby’s Need Formula Now Act to help get formula back on the shelves immediately. As a new Mom, I will continue this advocacy until the shelves are full.
Helping Small Businesses Recover During and After COVID Pandemic
The COVID pandemic crushed small businesses. I worked with my collegues in Congress to extend the PPP deadline to expand access for our local busineses and ensured farmers and self-employed businesses were included.

Blocking Cuomo’s Ventilator Grab
Elise successfully led the effort to get Governor Cuomo to backtrack on his dangerous and reckless executive order to have the National Guard confiscate North Country ventilators and send them downstate.
Supporting Our Seniors and Caregivers
Elise rewrote and co-led the bipartisan Older Americans Act, to improve the delivery of important services, like Meals on Wheels, to our seniors so they can stay in our communities. This law also includes Elise’s provisions to improve family caregiver services and ensure the protection of seniors with early onset Alzheimers.
